George William Baker, 96, of Waikoloa, died May 25 at his residence. Born in Lincoln, Ne., he was a retired teacher and counselor for School District 7 in Grants Pass, Ore., a member of Imiola Congregational Church in Waimea and a World War II Army veteran. Private services to be held. Survived by daughters, Elaine (Larry) Taylor of Anchorage, Alaska, Sharon (Jim) Skibby of Kailua-Kona; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Benjamin “Benny” Joseph Botelho, 84, of Halaula died May 17 at Queen’s Medical Center. Born in Kohala, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army in the Korean War with the final rank of sergeant first class; a heavy equipment mechanic for the Kohala Sugar Company, and self employed; and a member of the Kohala Senior Citizens Club. Survived by son, Haven Botelho of Halaula; sister, Sharon Botelho of Halaula; sisters-in-law, Sandra Botelho, Bonnie Botelho of Halaula; brother-in-law, Bob Morikawa of Honolulu; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends may call at the Kohala Seventh Day Adventist Church in Hawi on Sunday, June 9 from 8-10 a.m., followed by service and burial with full military honors at the church’s cemetery. Felix Emon Canonigo, 86, of Kailua-Kona died May 14 at his residence. Born in Papaikou, he was a retired taxi owner of C&C Taxi Company. He was an artist and a ballroom owner, dancer and past president of the Kona Visayan Club. Friends may call at 10:30 a.m. June 8 at Kona Life Church at 75-5669 Alii Dr. above Scandinavian Shave Ice in Kailua-Kona. Casual attire. Betty Louise Davidson, 72, of Kailua-Kona died May 21 at her residence. Born in Tupelo, Okla., she was a homemaker. Private services held. Junior Mitsumori Ordonio, 65, of Ocean View died April 30 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Kobe, Japan, he was a purchasing manager for Kona Village Resort, a heavy equipment operator and an Army veteran. Private services held. Robert R. Perreira, 90, of Honokaa died Wednesday, May 22. Born in Honokaa, he was a retired plantation worker. Funeral services to be held at Our Lady of Lourdes church on June 8. Teruto “Terry” Tsubota, 90, of Okinawa died May 22 at Garden Isle Health Care hospice facility. Born in Pahoa, he was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served in the Okinawa Campaign. He retired from the U.S. Department of Defense in Okinawa after 46 years of government service. Memorial services to be held Thursday, June 6, at Dodo Mortuary Chapel in Hilo at 10 a.m. Inurnment to be held at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2 at noon. Donations may be made to Kauai Hospice. Survived by wife, Kiyoko Tsubota of Okinawa; daughter, Renee (Wil) Horie of Kaneohe; sons, Guy (Diane) Tsubota of Kilauea, Sid Tsubota of California; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; sister, Tatsuko Hayashikawa of Pahoa; and brother, Katsushi (Haruko) Tsubota of Okinawa.
